Absolutely this. Can confirm from experience. I got it from my Ma, whenever family was hosting growing up she was doing the most. Flexing at every opportunity. Obviously good to play with a budget you wouldn’t mind burning so you don’t chew off too much, but keep being extra.

Obviously still has fair share of dumb stuff happening with these systems today, but there have been some big steps in just the last few years. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was much spookier a decade from now.

In general, good to use as a tool to be taken with grain of salt and further review.

For what it’s worth, it depends so much on whether or not the meal is done justice by a proper cook. It’s a tall order, and loads of folks cooking it are just doing their best.

That being said, shit is phenomenal when it’s done justice. I was quite lucky to live in the household with the best spread of all time. Ma’s t-day feast is undefeated.

Talking crisp-skinned juicy bird with balanced herbs and seasoning. Fully homemade roasted stuffing with crispy bits and sausage, a jealously guarded family recipe. Fresh homemade cranberry sauce two-ways cause both versions too damn good to skip either. Spuds with gravy made from them bird-veg roast drippings – most valuable juice on the planet. Homemade lefste. Cranberry upside down cake, or like pumpkin cheesecake, the works.

For me, DEFINITELY an unpopular opinion, but for obvious reasons I’m biased af. (Don’t even get me started on the other holidays)

I’m flummoxed for sure. I need a computer to be a bit of a power house, ideally well equipped for music production software and live performance, DJ software, graphic design/animation/illustration, and at least for the desktop gaming. Been in the market for a laptop so I can take at least the music & design production on the go, but damn I hate laptop shopping.

Unsuuuure if Linux is compatible with the graphic/music production software I’m working with, or if there are viable work arounds. Windows 11 looks like a dumpster fire I do not wish to support. I’d really like to avoid Apple as I have my own grievances there too. Windows 10 obviously seems on the way out.

Long story long, feeling a bit lost on how best to proceed. If anyone uses Linux for similar creative endeavors, would love to hear your roses and thorns on the matter. Certainly open to recommendations for a sturdy war horse of a lappy as well.

I will also note that in my personal experience phone was more of a hail mary when I’d be doing like a wedding reception or private party and needed a tune for client that wasn’t already in my USBs. When the tip depends on it, yes, I absolutely DJ with the phone.

As a DJ and audiophile in general, yeah I’m not thrilled on headphones using batteries and Bluetooth. I’ll give up my hard-line when I’m dead.

Sure, some wireless for exercise or casual use is fine. Full deal breaker if I’m performing though.

There’s a sweet spot for sure. With FromSoft games the best strategy was often sleeping on it for a day. Gives the brain time to defrag and better learn moves, timing, etc. Coming back to Sekiro after an extended hiatus was pretty brutal though.

In short, liability laws are a bastard in a country with no national healthcare rights.

Quite frequently for sure. I’m a musician in a band, a DJ, and working on becoming more of a producer. Plugging in for amplifying or sampling happens fairly often. Being an audiophile, I’m also partial to wired connections over Bluetooth which can be more unreliable in performance settings. Never wanted to mess with battery powered phones too. Already have charger fatigue pretty bad.
